Editor of The Journal (once 'of Contemporary Anglo-Scandinavian Poetry'), publisher of Original Plus books, I am is also proud to be Poetry Editor of The Select Six (BeWrite Books). Born Blackpool 1946, now living in Maryport, Cumbria, freelance writer, most recently employed as an amusement arcade cashier, I have also been a psychiatric nurse, residential social worker, milkman, plumber, laboratory analyst, groundsman, sailor, computer operator, scaffolder, gardener, painter & decorator........ working at anything, in fact, which has paid the rent, enabled me to raise my three daughters and which hasn't got too much in the way of my writing.
Do we now get into one of those awkward very English situations where I thank you for your thanks and you thank me for... Actually what I'm most chuffed about at the moment is that two Leicester musicians, Carl Martin and Stuart Mee, have finally managed to lose all reverence for my lyrics and have incorporated them into a roaring along track. But that was yesterday, when there was snow on the Scafell massif and today I look at the New Labour gravy train and once again despair.
